Since this past weekend at the USPSA match hosted at the East Alabama Gun Club, many possibilities have been formed and are now in the works. The match was a good one. With me placing 14th overall in the production division. Leaving with a content feeling of satisfaction, but in my mind I can always do better. After reviewing the video it became evident that this is a necessary tool that will be utilized in the future in order to maximize principles to results.
Every time there is a match, the competition level is high but the camaraderie is set apart by the fact that everyone is helping each other with constructive criticism. The rule set is a bit different for the IDPA (being geared more to concealed carry self defense situations), but the USPSA has a rule set (more for competition) that is more challenging and utilizes more targets. After talking with my team of developers and supporters, the decision was made to visit other gun clubs hosting various IDPA and USPSA matches. This exposure will be a great networking tool. With that being said, my next match which will take place in Hoover, AL. The 'Brocks Gap IDPA' club is hosting a regional competition called The Masters IDPA Championship that will be comprised of ten stages of shooting fun.
There will be a few changes coming up within the next couple weeks. This past weekend I learned that A-TACS Camo has decided to sponsor me along with Enlisted Nine Fight Company. A website is being developed that will feature news articles in the industry, merchandise, as well as classes being taught. Check back periodically for when these changes will take effect. I will be attending training at both the United States Army Marksmanship Unit (with the AR platform rifle) and The Bill Rogers Shooting School (with the handgun). I am very excited to attend both of these courses. Before I continue any further there are a few people who deserve a public thank you from me. First I would like to thank Dan O'Brien and Colton Smith for having the confidence to invest in me, a fellow Soldier, in order to make this dream come true. Without your support and backing this road would be a bumpy one. Next I would like to thank Scott P. of Scout Sniper Systems for opening my eyes and having my back with the development of the website and giving assistance with future endeavors. The third group of people with whom deserve more than thank you are the Homeland Security ICE team at Ft. Benning for taking the time to work with me honing in this skill set. The final thanks goes out to everyone who assisted me with knowledge, advice, and hands on teaching from past leaders in the military to the guys with whom I compete with. Thank you all for how you each contributed to giving assistance one way or another, thank you guys.
Overall this month has proved to me that with hard work and dedication you can achieve anything you like. True commitment is being willing to put forth the work to be on top. Follow my lead and we will get there together. Thank you for support it is very much appreciated!
