For those who know me on a personal level can attest to my training being compared to looking for the perfect solution to any equation. The correct answer will be there is not perfect solution, but the more you practice something you have a better chance of eliminating results that could be detrimental to you and your loved ones.
Like any instructor and/or competition shooter the hunt for that one piece of instruction or drill to put you over the top is always in thought. For the past month there has been some extensive research on my behalf related to factors that will assist me with my competition shooter. Dry fire is something that takes place about three or four times a day for thirty minutes. When dry firing was added to my nightly routine, the next USPSA match I shot showed a tremendous difference that added to my performance. To further my training efforts there was a purchase of a SIRT (Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger) to help me more than the redundancy of just dry firing. After there is time to apply the training aide to my routine there will be a review written.
There’s always a constant search from me to absorb knowledge when it comes to shooting. Having such resources as the Army Marksmanship Unit, a Homeland Security training facility, and countless number of NRA qualified range officials with in my grasp does not stop me from seeking knowledge from other sources. There is a Costa Ludas course that is taking place in the spring I am fortunate to be a part of. Of course since bullets will be going down range with instruction, you already know that I am like a kid running loose in Toys R us with a bottomless credit card. Again, there will be a review written about my experience.
The holidays are behind us and time for us to be thankful for the moments we shared in times of both good and bad. Completing our days with the normal routines can be a bit redundant, but take the time to embrace some training with a firearm to bring a bit of excitement to your routine.
